Same-Day Crowns in Oklahoma City
A custom crown. Fewer trips to the dentist. At Progressive Dental, digital scanning and in-office crown technology can restore a damaged tooth in one appointment when your tooth and treatment needs allow.

Restore your tooth without putting life on hold.
A broken or weakened tooth can make everyday meals uncomfortable and leave you worrying about the next bite. A dental crown covers the remaining tooth to restore its shape and support normal function. With a same-day workflow, we can design, make, fit, and place an appropriate crown here in our South OKC office.
The first step is an exam with Dr. McReynolds. We check the tooth, gums, and bite, then explain whether a same-day crown is a good choice. Your long-term result comes first; some teeth need additional care or a laboratory-made restoration.
One treatment visit, when appropriate
In-office fabrication can combine crown preparation and final placement in one visit, reducing return trips.
A digital scan of your tooth
Digital images help us design the crown around your prepared tooth and the way your teeth come together.
A restoration made for your smile
We assess the fit, bite, and appearance before placing the crown and explain how to care for it.
How your same-day crown visit works
01 · Examine and plan
We review symptoms, examine the tooth, and take any needed images. You receive an explanation of the treatment and estimated cost before deciding.
02 · Prepare and scan
The tooth is numbed as appropriate and shaped for the crown. A digital scan records the prepared area and neighboring teeth.
03 · Design and make
The crown is designed for your tooth and bite, then fabricated with our in-office crown technology when the case is suitable.
04 · Check and place
We check the crown’s fit and bite, make needed adjustments, and secure it to the tooth. You leave with care instructions.
Is a same-day crown right for your tooth?
A crown may be recommended when a tooth has a large filling, significant decay, a fracture, or needs protection after root canal treatment. An exam determines whether enough healthy tooth remains to support a crown and whether the same-day workflow fits the situation.
A smaller repair may only need a filling or partial restoration. A deep crack, infection, or extensive damage may change the plan. If the tooth is missing, a dental bridge or dental implant may be considered instead.
Same-day crowns and traditional crowns
Both approaches aim to protect a tooth and restore comfortable function. The difference is how and where the crown is made. A same-day crown is fabricated in the office; a traditional crown is made by a dental laboratory and generally involves a temporary crown and a return visit.
When same-day completion is appropriate, you may avoid a temporary crown and a separate placement appointment. A laboratory-made crown can still be the better option for certain material, bite, or appearance requirements. We explain the tradeoffs for your particular tooth.
Cost, insurance, and planning your appointment
The cost of your crown depends on the tooth, restoration material, and any additional treatment, such as a buildup or root canal. Our team can review your insurance benefits and explain estimated out-of-pocket costs before treatment. Coverage and plan limits vary.
Call 405-632-5561 and tell us if you have a broken tooth, a lost crown, or a crown recommendation from a recent exam. A same-day appointment opening is different from same-day crown completion: we need to confirm both availability and clinical suitability.
If dental anxiety has kept you from care, ask about our sedation options when scheduling so we can discuss an appropriate plan.
Questions about your care
Can every crown be made in one day?
No. Many suitable cases can be treated with in-office crown technology, but the tooth’s condition, material requirements, and any additional treatment determine the timeline.
How long should I allow for the appointment?
A same-day crown visit includes preparation, scanning, fabrication, and placement. Our team will give you an estimated visit length when your treatment is planned; allow more time than a routine checkup.
Does getting a crown hurt?
We discuss comfort and use local anesthesia as appropriate. Let us know about anxiety or prior difficulty getting numb. Some sensitivity can occur afterward; call if discomfort persists or your bite feels uneven.
How do I care for my new crown?
Follow your individual instructions and wait for numbness to wear off before chewing. Brush and clean between teeth daily, keep preventive visits, and contact us if the crown feels loose or the bite feels high. A crowned tooth can still develop decay.
Are same-day crowns permanent?
A same-day crown is intended as the final restoration when treatment is completed. It is not a temporary crown, but no crown is guaranteed to last forever. Longevity depends on the tooth, bite, material, and ongoing care.
