Meet your Oklahoma City dentist
Dr. Matthew D.McReynolds
Dentist and practice owner
An engineer’s eye for detail, a lifelong willingness to learn, and a genuine desire to help people shape the way Dr. McReynolds practices dentistry.
He combines thoughtful planning with modern technology to give patients clear information, comfortable care, and treatment designed around the whole person.
From engineering to dentistry
A career built on precision, curiosity, and service.
Dr. McReynolds grew up in Empire, a rural community outside Duncan, Oklahoma. He studied chemical engineering at the University of Oklahoma because the science courses also prepared him to apply to dental school. Although he received a dental school application in 1996, engineering internships at Halliburton, university research, and an opportunity at Boeing Aerospace set his first career in motion.
At Boeing, he supported a conversion of B-1B avionics software and advanced from Engineer I to Engineer III during his first four years while receiving several young engineer awards. He later provided lead engineering direction for multimillion-dollar B-2 bomber programs. The work was challenging and rewarding, but he wanted a career that combined health, science, and hands-on problem solving while allowing him to be home with his family each night. After much thought and prayer with his family, he returned to the goal of becoming a dentist.
In 2012, Dr. McReynolds entered The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, and his family moved to Columbus as he became a Buckeye. During dental school, he spent additional time assisting in oral surgery, prosthodontics, periodontics, and orthodontics clinics. His clinical instructors and the clinic dean came to know him as a careful problem solver who could assess difficult cases and help improve previous treatment.
The strengths that guided his engineering career still guide his dentistry: integrity, a willingness to learn, and a desire to help people. His engineering background helps him consider how oral health, function, comfort, and overall health work together. After treatment, he reviews the result and asks what could be improved next time. That habit keeps quality and continuous improvement at the center of the practice.
Technology with a purpose
Better tools support better conversations and more precise care.
Dr. McReynolds has helped Progressive Dental become a fully digital practice. The office uses 3D cone beam computed tomography for detailed imaging, dental lasers, intraoral scanning in place of traditional impression material, same-day crown milling, 3D-printed models, and in-office clear aligner fabrication when appropriate.
His commitment to continuing education is practical: learn more, evaluate carefully, and give each patient the best information possible before treatment begins.
Professional involvement
Committed to learning and professional standards.
Dr. McReynolds maintains active involvement in organizations that support continuing education, patient safety, and the advancement of dentistry.
